What it is
Part 108 Readiness asks you about twenty questions in three short chapters: your operation, your organization, and your equipment and ground game. The questions change based on what you fly, which path you are aiming for, and where you operate, so a rural permit applicant sees a shorter check than a certificate applicant over a city. Every question explains why it matters and points to the part of the proposed rule it comes from.
What you get
On screen, right away: a score out of 100, a readiness band, and a picture of your strengths and gaps across seven domains: track and scope, airspace and data services, people and roles, safety management, records and telemetry, aircraft and airworthiness, and the ground layer.
By email, if you want it: a two page PDF report with your scores, every gap ranked by weight, an action list in order, and the docket reference on each item. Dated, so you can retake the check later and compare.

How it stays accurate
The check is built on the proposed rule, docket FAA-2025-1908, not on the final text, which has not been published. We review it against the docket every week and record every review, including the weeks where nothing changed, on the changelog. When the final rule publishes, the check is rebuilt against final text and the changelog shows what moved.
See the changelogYour email stays yours
The check is free and you can see your score without giving us anything. If you ask for the PDF report, we need a name, a work email and an organization to send it. We do not sell, rent or share your email address. It is used to send the report you asked for and nothing else, unless you tick the box for future briefings. Your answers are combined with everyone else's, with no name, email or organization attached, to build a quarterly Readiness Index for the industry.
PrivacyFrequently asked questions
Is Part 108 final?
No. The FAA and TSA published the proposed rule on August 7, 2025. The final rule has been under review at the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs since July 10, 2026. This check is built on the proposed text and is reviewed weekly.
Is this a certification?
No. It is a self-assessment. Nothing here is legal advice or a determination by the FAA. It tells you where you stand today and what to work on next.
Who is it for?
Commercial and public safety operators planning beyond visual line of sight flights: delivery, inspection and utilities, agriculture, survey and mapping, and drone as first responder programs.
How long does it take?
About six minutes. The number of questions depends on your answers, usually between sixteen and twenty-six.
What is the ground layer?
Retrieval, field location, monitoring coverage and incident custody: the work on the ground when an aircraft does not come home. It is scored separately and labeled forward looking because the proposed text expects the capability without spelling it out.
Can I take it more than once?
Yes. Each report is dated, so you can close some gaps, take it again and compare.
